Okay we have 11 members. So if everyone can email me at bethanyasj-bookclub@yahoo.com their top book choice I will start setting up the months. If there is anyone that doesn’t have a book choice or doesn’t want to pick one just let me know and I can fill in with the extra ideas people have had. Lets set a deadline of Monday for your book choices so that I can start working on the list and we can aim for everyone getting their books and starting in September.

I’ll relinquish my choice to the group. I’m open to whatever. πŸ™‚

You are funny Michelle. I thought the Power of One sounded Awesome…or do you want to read something you have never read before. πŸ™‚

3. Michelle - August 3, 2006

Your pick.
After I wrote that, I spoke with Jeff and told him what my suggestions were. He said you guys were going to hate me ’cause I suggested books that aren’t fun to read. So, now it’s really the groups choice. I’ll read those other books on my own whether they are chose or not. I don’t mind re-reading The Power of One. πŸ™‚

Michelle!! You are funny! I like those books!!! They may be old and considered nerdy to many but they are CLASSICS!! πŸ™‚

5. Jane Swanson - August 3, 2006

8. Michelle - August 4, 2006

oh, i have another suggestion. A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith. I wouldn’t mind re-reading that one.

9. Danielle - August 4, 2006

I’ve been thinking about C. S. Lewis’ “Til We Have Faces.” Has anyone read that?

10. Michelle - August 4, 2006

Yes. It’s quite mythologically based (Cupid and Psyche). I liked it and would like to read it again. Lots to think about in that book.

11. anne - August 4, 2006

Oh “til We Have Faces” is a good one…I’d read it again too! πŸ™‚

12. Bethany - August 4, 2006

Sounds great Danielle, I actually have not read that one yet but I love his stuff.

When you email me your book choices list your top choice as number one and then list your second choice as number 2. That way If I get the same book from several people I can substitute. Once I get all the book choices I will make a list of them and the order we will read so that everyone can plan accordingly. Can’t wait. Thanks again all for being willing to participate. I know I am really going to enjoy this.

13. Michelle - August 4, 2006

Another suggestion. The Giver by Lois Lowrey. Interesting ideas & lots to discuss.

14. Danielle - August 4, 2006

BTW, Bethany, I love the look of this site!
